We are excited to announce plans for upcoming renovations at the library! After reviewing the results of our community survey last year, the Library and Trustees identified key areas to improve for staff and patrons.
The Paul Memorial Library will be closing for 6-8 weeks starting Saturday, Nov. 16 for overdue renovations and updates.
Updates will include:
- asbestos remediation
- new carpeting
- new furniture
- interior painting
Our target reopen date is January, 13, 2025.
We will keep you updated on progress and any potential changes to our re-opening plans as the project is underway.

While closed, library services will be limited.
We know you love the library, so we are anxious to make this closure period as convenient as possible for you.
Although our regular collection services will be limited, staff will be working at the Town Hall and providing continued programming and inter-library loan checkouts. Stay tuned for updates on how to order and when to pick up.
What to expect:
- Stock up! Check out an unlimited number of books before we close.
- Inter-library loans (ILLs) will continue to be available. (Pick up at Town Hall).
- 24/7 access to our digital collection thru Libby and hoopla apps with your library card.
- Ongoing library events hosted at the Town Hall. (See calendar).
- Extended due dates thru January. Book return will be closed—hang on to your books!
- Access to printing and computer services are available at neighboring public libraries like Stratham and Newmarket (no card required).
Before we close, be sure to
- Visit us and stock up on books and movies for the holidays!
- Set up your digital library accounts with Libby and hoopla so you can access thousands of audiobooks, ebooks, magazines, movies, TV shows, and more.
- Subscribe to our email newsletter for updates on ongoing programming and re-opening plans.
Staff will continue to work through the closure from the Town Hall, offering ongoing programming and ILL services.
