Collecting Book Donations

September 6, 2025 - September 18, 2025

The Annual Library Book Sale is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9am – 12pm (weather permitting).

We will be collecting book donations for the sale from Saturday, Sept. 6 – Thursday, Sept. 18.

A portion of any unsold kids books will be donated to the Bright Horizons book drive to benefit the Greater Seacoast Community Health / Families First nonprofit.

Guidelines for Donating

We can accept:

  • Clean and gently used books
  • Nonfiction published within the last 10 years (i.e., is the info still valid and relevant?)
  • Popular fiction and bestsellers are especially welcome
  • Any age range (Adult, Teen, Middle Grade, Picture Books, etc.)

Rule of thumb: If you wouldn’t give it to a friend, please consider recycling it instead. 

We cannot accept donations that are:

  • Dirty, moldy, stained, or damaged
  • Books with missing or torn pages/covers
  • Textbooks
  • Old nonfiction that is outdated/no longer accurate/relevant
  • Books with strong odors (e.g., smoke, mildew, etc.)
