Big Trees of Northern New England
April 13, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join wooden boatbuilder, outdoorsman, Big Tree Program measurer and local author Kevin Martin, as he discusses the biggest trees in Northern New England.
Learn how he got involved in finding the trees, how lumber from similar trees is used in his boat-building work, and how wildlife uses these impressive elements of our landscape. The discussion will cover trees on public land and where they are located so you can go see them for yourself.
City tours of Portsmouth and Exeter are also described. He will highlight some trees local to the Newfields area.
Copies of his book Big Trees of Northern New England will be available after the presentation for those interested.
This event is free and open to the public.
