Free Passes to Baby Animals: Heritage Breeds at the Banke

Visit Strawbery Banke Museum’s Baby Animals event this spring with your FREE Library Pass, courtesy of the Friends of the Newfields Library!

Call or visit the library to reserve your pass starting on April 13.

Limit 2 passes/day (1 per family). First come, first served. Must be a library card holder to redeem. (Library cards are free to all Newfields residents).

With your library pass you get:

    • Free admission for up to 4 people (2 adults, 2 children) to the Baby Animals event.
    • Library pass holders do not need to reserve tickets at the museum in advance.
    • Demonstrations are included with your event pass.

Event Times:

    • April 27 – May 5
    • Open daily, Sunday – Saturday 10 AM – 4pm

How to Use Your Pass:

    • Call or visit the library to reserve your Baby Animals pass. Limit 2 passes/day (1 per family). First come, first served. Must be a library card holder.
    • Please have the date in mind that you want to attend. The pass will only be valid for the date listed on the pass.
    • Library patrons with a valid pass do not need to reserve tickets in advance on the Museum’s website and should contact the library to inquire about pass availability.
    • Bring a copy of the library pass and present it at the door to obtain free admission.

About Baby Animals: Heritage Breeds at the Banke

Learn about domestic livestock typical on coastal northern New England farms from the 17th century to the present day at this family-friendly and educational event. 

Peter Cook, Guest Curator, and expert breeders from NH, ME, MA, and NY farms share stories and answer visitors’ questions about the rare heritage breeds, their unique characteristics, special care, and importance in today’s world.

*Petting is not allowed for the animals’ and visitors’ health and safety.

Enjoy demonstrations, such as weaving, and on Sundays, Dan Smith, Restoration Assistant and Museum Beekeeper, performs a honey extraction demonstration in the Lawrence J. Yerdon Visitor Center Lecture Hall from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Demonstrations are included with event tickets. Pickwick’s at the Banke, the Museum store is open during the event. Plus, the Museum’s historic houses are open for tours starting on April 27, 2024! Enhance your experience at Baby Animals: Heritage Breeds at the Banke by touring Strawbery Banke’s historic houses, exhibits, and heirloom gardens.
