Genealogical research is about more than hunting down biographical facts. It’s about learning what your ancestors’ lives were like, what motivated them, or how they spent their days. It’s a way to sew together all the facts you learn to weave your own unique family story.

Interested in doing family history, but not sure where to start?

Join us at the Library for a beginner-friendly introduction to genealogy using Ancestry.com Library Edition (now available for free in-library use at PML!).

When: Wednesday, March 11
Time: 6-7:30PM

Ancestry is one of the biggest genealogy resources in the world, and a great place to start your family history search. You will come away with clear steps for starting your research, including

  • how to build out a basic family tree
  • what records are available to search
  • where to find information
  • how to navigate Ancestry.com Library Edition to support your research

Participants are invited to bring a laptop or tablet to work on (optional).

Ancestry Library Edition is gratefully funded by the Friends of the Newfields Library.
