Round three, the summer edition, is in the books! Just a quick note that we will not be posting questions in August, but the patron poll will be returning in September, so be sure to the check the whiteboard when you come to visit in the fall.
And now for the results…
- At Newfields BBQs this summer, hamburgers are on the menu! More than 50% of respondents chose hamburgers as their top choice over hot dogs, neither, or both (even when bundled with hamburgers, hot dogs still only accounted for 31% of the results and came in a dismal 10% on their own).
- Newfields really likes desserts! Cake vs Pie gave us our biggest engagement to date, with cake just edging out pie with 56% of the votes. We attribute this to the eternal popularity of birthday cakes among kids. The library staff is very much Team Pie, mostly because we agreed that cheesecake is actually pie.
- In addition to cakes and pies (and ice cream from the last round), Newfields residents are also fans of Oreo cookies. By far the preferred way to eat them is whole (63%) and to NOT dunk them (55%).
Unfortunately, according to Oreo, this is NOT the best way to eat their delicious cookie. Their recommendation is “twist, lick, and dunk” and they have science to back them up! Click here to learn more and find out what kind of eater you are. - Even though Newfields is part of the Seacoast region, the majority of patrons actually prefer mountains to the beach: 56% to 44%. But fortunately, our town is perfectly located so everyone can be close to their happy place.
